Positive COVID-19 Case Update05 January 2021
Four people who arrived on the repatriation flight from India on 1 January 2021 have tested positive for COVID-19. This includes:
- A 17-month-old male
- A 30 year old female
- A three year old female
- A 73 year old male
A 21-month-old male child who arrived on the repatriation flight from Frankfurt on 3 January 2021 has also tested positive for COVID-19. All patients are asymptomatic and are under the care of the AUSMAT team at the NT Centre for National Resilience, except for one patient who has mild symptoms and is in isolation at Royal Darwin Hospital.
Since repatriation flights to the Northern Territory began on 23 October 2020:
- 2384 international arrivals have undertaken quarantine at the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience
- A total of 53 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported.
The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 88. All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.
