The Chief Minister has announced Greater Sydney will be removed from the Northern Territory's list of coronavirus hotspots early next month, if the number of cases there remains low. The government plans to revoke that requirement from October 9, unless there is a change in the situation in Sydney.

A Territory couple who disembarked from the Ruby Princess cruise ship in Sydney and flew to Darwin tested positive to Coronavirus (COVID-19) today.
This brings the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus COVID-19 in the NT to five in total.

A 2nd case has been confirmed in the NT
The Director Centre Disease Control in Darwin has just advised that a second case of coronavirus has been confirmed. The male, who returned from overseas in the last 48 hours, followed protocol and immediately went into self-isolation. Health authorities are contacting those who were in close contact during the flight.
Northern Territory Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
Two people have today tested positive to Coronavirus (COVID-19). This brings the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus COVID-19 in the NT to three in total.
20th March Prime Minister’s Media Statement - Update on Coronavirus measures
The Prime Minister, state and territory Premiers and Chief Ministers met today for the National Cabinet and agreed to further actions to protect the Australian community from the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Gathering in groups
Organised, non-essential gatherings of more than 500+ people outdoors and 100+ people indoors are not allowed.

Mass gatherings
There is a dedicated COVID-19 mass gatherings hotline for the NT - 1800 518 055.
Call this line if you are seeking information regarding an upcoming mass gathering in the Northern Territory. All gatherings of more than 500 people are prevented and will need to be cancelled, postponed or modified to meet requirements. The NT Health COVID-19 Risk Assessment tool DOCX (66.0 KB) has been developed to assist event organisers to determine the level of clinical risk around proposed events.
Remote communities
There is a dedicated COVID-19 remote community travel hotline for the NT – 1800 518 189.
Call this line if you are seeking information regarding traveling to a remote community in the Northern Territory. NT remote communities have been closed to all non-essential travel in response to concerns about the spread of COVID-19.
The Territory's jobs rescue and recovery plan
The Territory Labor Government will deliver a $65 million Jobs Rescue and Recovery Plan to protect Territorians from the deep economic impacts of the coronavirus.
