National advice hotline

For information on coronavirus (COVID-19) call the hotline - open 24 hours, 7 days.

Remote communities in the Northern Territory (NT) have been closed to all non-essential travel.

This means you won't receive an Aboriginal Land permit if your fishing activities require you to:

  • stop at a remote community or
  • pass through a remote community.

However, if you are travelling to a site (for example Shady Camp or Corroboree Billabong) without the need to pass through a remote community or requiring a permit, you should be able to continue with your plans.

This includes fishing in:

  • Darwin Harbour
  • Dundee
  • Leeders Creek
  • Bynoe Harbour
  • Channel Point
  • Adelaide River (mouth)
  • Cox Peninsula
  • Shoal Bay.
