Mask wearing guidance for business

In the workplace, if you can physically distance by 1.5 metres, you don’t need to wear a mask.

Farm, pastoral workers

Staff working on a pastoral property should only wear a mask if they’re unable to physically distance by 1.5 metres.

Staff working alone, in yards, on a horse, fencing, spraying, doing fire management, mechanical or other work do not need to wear a mask because they can physically distance by 1.5 metres.

Staff working in a kitchen or office who are unable to physically distance themselves, should wear a mask.

Tour guides

Staff working as a tour guide should wear a mask if they’re unable to physically distance by 1.5 metres. When travelling in a passenger vehicle with customers, they should also wear a mask. Passengers are also required to wear a mask whilst travelling in a passenger vehicle.

Taxi, bus, ride share drivers

Staff working as taxi, bus or ride share driver are required to wear a mask. Passengers are also required to wear a mask.

Office workers

Staff working in an office environment should wear a mask if they’re unable to physically distance by 1.5 metres.

If staff can physically distance 1.5 metres from others while in the office, they don’t need to wear a mask however when heading to a meeting or entering a public lift, staff should be wearing a mask.

Hospitality workers

Staff working in front of house hospitality should wear a mask given the come into contact with patrons.

Staff working in a kitchen or office who are unable to physically distance themselves, should also wear a mask.
